Our Technology Rooms offer students a new way to engage and collaborate on presentations and class projects, record video, and experience the latest technology in an academic setting.
Policies
- Rooms may only be reserved by currently enrolled students.
- 3rd floor study rooms located within the stacks are available until 10:00 PM during the week (Sunday-Thursday) and until 7:30 PM on the weekend (Friday-Saturday). 3rd floor study rooms located outside of the stacks are open overnight.
- A minimum of three patrons must be present at checkout to use the Friendship room. All other rooms are available for indivdual or group study.
- Patrons are responsible for monitoring their UTD email accounts for any notifications about due date changes, courtesy reminders, and overdue notices.
- Room reservations will be held for 15 minutes past the beginning of the reservation time. After 15 minutes, the room becomes available to other individuals/groups.
- Keys & Smart Room Accessory kits can be checked out at the Services Desk. Please note that you will need to provide your physical Comet Card to check out study room keys.
- Reservations are limited to two hours maximum, and to one active reservation per 24-hour period.
- McDermott Library is a smoke-free, vape-free building.
- The number of patrons in a study room cannot exceed the maximum occupancy as listed on website.
- Furniture may not be moved into or removed from study rooms.
- Failure to follow all study room policies and/or staff instructions will result in the loss of study room privileges.
- Study room patrons are expected to maintain a respectful volume level and be courteous towards other patrons.
