McDermott Library’s Mindfulness Room is available for self-care, prayer, reflection, meditation, and relaxation
Policies
- The Mindfulness Room may only be reserved by currently enrolled students.
- Room can be reserved during regular library hours up to 30 minutes before closing.
- Room reservations will be held for 15 minutes past the beginning of the reservation time. After 15 minutes, the room becomes available to other individuals/groups.
- Room keys can be checked out at the Services Desk. Please note that you will need to provide your physical Comet Card to check out study room keys.
- Reservations are limited to 30 minutes maximum, and to one active reservation per 24-hour period.
- McDermott Library is a smoke-free, vape-free building.
- Patrons are responsible for monitoring their UTD email accounts for any notifications about due date changes, courtesy reminders, and overdue notices.
Guidelines on the Use of the Room
- Room is not for sleeping or study.
- Footwear should be removed and placed on shelving.
- Practice quiet and mutual respect to help create a peaceful environment.
- Silence technology and do not make phone calls or text.
- Listen to music, guided practices, through earphones.
- No soliciting.
- Remove all personal items after using the room.
Safety & Food
- Only water containers are allowed. No food or other drinks permitted.
- No candles, burning oil, incense or other flammable items.
- Please keep the Room clean for your colleagues.
